WE Scare Hunger is Dante’s annual food drive. It starts this week! Two collection bins are set up across from the office and ready to be filled with non-perishable food donations. All donations will go to the North York Harvest Food Bank which helps individuals and families experiencing food insecurity in our community.

JUNIOR BOY SOCCER

The Jr. Boys’ soccer team travelled to Earlscourt, yesterday, to play their divisional playoff game against St. Mary. Not knowing what to expect, the boys played with determination. They played hard, out hustled St. Mary, and controlled the game from the start. As a result, Dante scored two goals in the first half to lead 2-0. In the second half, Dante continued to work hard and had many chances to extend the lead but could not. The result was Dante                    winning 2-0.

JUNIOR BOYS SOCCER

Yesterday, the Jr. Boys’ soccer team played their second last league game against Father Redmond. With one point separating Father Redmond and Dante, the boys knew that at win or a tie would keep them in first place. The game started very tentative and Redmond kept on the pressure and eventually broke a scoreless tie. However, the boys would not give up and they too had chances and finally tied the score before the end of the half. As the second half started, Dante had some chances to move ahead but could not capitalize. Father Redmond had some of their own chances and they did capitalize. With over fifteen minutes still to play in the second half, the Dante boys kept the pressure but could not equalize the score. The score ended with Redmond winning 2-1.

With Dante ahead 2-0, Saint Frere Andre was awarded a penalty kick. If Saint Frere Andre would have scored, it would have cut Dante’s lead to one half.
