Today we are launching Mental Health Awareness Week. Each day, we will share a "tip for the week" to help improve your mental health. Today's tip is to "Be Mindful". "Mindfulness is a way of being and thinking. When we are mindful, we focus our attention on what is happening in our body, our mind, and in our environment. With mindfulness, we live in the present; we focus on what is happening right now". To get you in the spirit of the week, we invite you to participate in our Green Ribbon Campaign being held during all three lunches in the cafeteria. The colour green is associated with mental health awareness and symbolizes hope; hope that we may work together to fight the stigma surrounding mental illness and encourage those who may be suffering to come forward to seek the help they need. By wearing a green ribbon, you openly and proudly support this cause. If you give a small donation of at least 25 cents to support our very own Mental Health committee, your name will be entered into a draw for a chance to win a Cineplex certificate. Prize winners will be announced on Friday! We welcome you to come out to support mental health and wellness!

Students will receive a green interview information slip from their homeroom teacher which indicates the day and time of their interview. Yesterday, the Senior Boys Soccer Team competed in the championship round of the TDCAA Indoor Soccer League. Over 20 teams participated in this annual league. Dante was matched up against Michael Power in the semi-finals and scored late in the game to break the 1-1 tie to win 2-1 and ensure a ticket to the finals against Bishop Morocco.
The finals against Morocco proved to be a physical match-up. Morocco opened the scoring, but Dante responded back by tying the game. Dante faced adversity late in the game by being short-handed for 5 minutes.
In that 5 minutes, the senior boys managed to stay organized and score 2 unanswered goals while being down a man. Dante defeated Morocco 4-2 in the finals to become the official TDCAA INDOOR LEAGUE CHAMPIONS FOR THE 2018 SEASON!
Mr. Ongaro, Mr. Fortino, Mr. Turco, and Mr. Spedaliere would like to congratulate the boys on the championship, and most importantly, for their etiquette, respect, and sportsmanship that they displayed on the field.
