winding and bitterly cold conditions, the Jr. Boys’ soccer team travelled to
Centennial Park yesterday for a soccer match against their nemeses Michael Power. Both
teams started the first half playing defensively and waiting for their chances
to score, but both teams could not muster any goals and the half was scoreless.
Starting the second half, Dante had a free kick, and the kick resulted in a goal. Dante held a 1-0
advantage, but Michael Power would not quite. Power eventually tied the score
on many chances they had during the second half. With the scored tied, the game
went to overtime. In the first overtime half, both teams were still tied.
However, in the second overtime half, Power had their own free kick and broke
the tie. Power now led 2-1. With only 4 minutes to play, Dante tried to press
to tie the score, but Power held on and stormed down the field to score a
heart-breaking goal. The game ended with Dante losing 3-1 to Michael Power. The
coaches would like to thank the team players for a great season and superb
effort in the game they were not successful. The team players and coaches would
like to thank Mr. Ongaro for his assistance in preparing the soccer field for
the home games.
