A MESSAGE FROM YOUR MENTAL HEALTH TEAM

Our final “tip of the week” is to get enough sleep!

Sleep plays a vital role in good health and wellness. Having a proper sleep routine is essential to brain development and our emotional state.
We need sleep to keep us healthy, active, and stable to perform at our best. When we are well rested, we perform better in school and all other activities. Sleep helps our mood and we are able to solve problems more effectively. It is recommended that “teens and adults get approximately 8-10 hours per night.” So, think about how much sleep you are getting and what you can do to improve your sleep routine.

So, take this weekend to catch up on some Zzzzzz…..

A reminder that the winners for our contest will be drawn today during period 4 at around 2pm…please listen out for your name…good luck!

A MESSAGE FROM YOUR MENTAL HEALTH TEAM

Our second “tip of the week” to help with mental health is to pray.

“God is a source of comfort, strength, and love for us. Through prayer, we enter into a deeper relationship with God and gain a sense of attachment to Him. Many studies have shown that individuals who pray to a loving and protecting God with whom they have a meaningful relationship are less likely to experience anxiety and stress. Prayer offers emotional comfort and reduces this stress.” Praying helps to improve our mental and emotional well-being. Perhaps you’d like to visit our chapel for quiet, reflective time to help calm your mind.

A current creative and de-stressing trend popular among children, teens, and adults alike is colouring! Please visit our Colouring Corner in the cafeteria today during all three lunches. Pick up a mandala or picture of your choice and colour your stress away! If you complete the task and submit your beautiful piece of art by Wednesday, your name will be entered in a draw for a chance to win a Yorkdale gift certificate. Prize winners will be announced on Friday!

Also, a reminder that tomorrow is “Wear Green Day!”  If you can, please wear a green top with your uniform pants to support mental health awareness. If you’re caught wearing green on your lunch, your name will be entered into the draw to win a Yorkdale gift certificate!

Please come out to support mental health and wellness!

MENTAL HEALTH REHEARSAL

A reminder from Ms. K and Mr. Canning, there will be a Mental Health assembly rehearsal today immediately after school in the auditorium. All mental health members and Ms. Reedy's technical crew must attend. See you there!
A reminder to all students: You're invited to wear a green top with uniform pants tomorrow, Wed. May 4, to help raise awareness and hope for mental health! If you're caught wearing green during lunchtime in the cafeteria, your name will be entered into a draw to win a Yorkdale Gift Certificate. Let's go green Dante!

A reminder to the members of the Boys Baseball team of the practice today after school at Caledonia Park.
