MARCH BREAK TRIP TO SPAIN AND PORTUGAL

Attention all those who are planning to attend the trip to Spain and Portugal this upcoming March Break:

There will be a quick meeting after school this upcoming Friday January 23rd in room 306 (Mme. Alaimo's room). It is regarding an important Parent Information Session.

AFTERSCHOOL LITERACY PROGRAM

Attention all grade 10 students

Last week you should of heard about the Afterschool Literacy Program being offered for grade 10 student who are interested in getting extra help after school to ensure success on the Ontario Secondary School Literacy Test scheduled for March 26th , 2015.

Students should have picked up an envelope which included a Letter and Registration Form from their Period 2 or Period 4 teachers.

Students who received an addressed envelope are strongly encouraged to attend but please note that all grade 10's are invited.

Students are reminded that there is a limited amount of spots for this free Afterschool Literacy Program and spots will be assigned on a first come first serve basis.

All forms must be returned by January 21st to be eligible.

If there are any questions please direct them to either Ms. Medeiros or Mrs. Maietta.

OSSLT MOCK TESTS

HELLO GRADE 10 STUDENTS

Please be advised that the Literacy Team is returning all marked OSSLT Mock Tests to Grade 10 teachers for distribution to students Thursday Jan. 15th.

Please Note: 
  • Booklet One has been placed in respective Period 2 teachers' mailboxes
  • Booklet Two has been placed in respective Period 4 teachers' mailboxes
In addition to the Mock Tests, teachers might find student-addressed envelopes which are to be distributed to the respective students as soon as possible with the Mock Test. These envelopes contain a letter and registration form for the Afterschool Literacy Program.

Students who receive an addressed envelope are strongly encouraged to attend the Afterschool Literacy Program.

A few blank envelopes with letters and forms have also been provided for students who might voluntarily want to participate in the Afterschool Literacy Program. If there are any questions please direct them to either Ms. Medeiros or Mrs. Maietta.

Believe it or not, its time to start applying for those summer jobs.  The earlier you apply, the greater your chances!  For students who will be leaving us at the end of Semester one, here’s one you might be interested in.

The Toronto Transit Commission Summer Student Program for 2015 is now accepting applications for employment during the summer.
The Toronto Transit Commission offers summer student positions during the summer months from approximately May 4, 2015 to August 28, 2015.
The majority of positions commence within the first few of weeks of May and students are required to work the entire summer term.
