POPPY CAMPAIGN AT DANTE

The Department of Canadian & World Studies is set to begin the Poppy Campaign at Dante. The Poppy Campaign will begin on Wednesday, November 5 to Monday, November 10, 2014.

Students will be visiting Period 1 classes during the Poppy Campaign and asking Dante students for a donation to receive their poppy which everyone will wear at the Remembrance Day assembly.

The poppy is

• A symbol of Remembrance and hope
• Worn by millions of people
• Red because of the natural colour of field poppies

Wearing a poppy

• is a personal choice
• reflects individual and personal memories
• is appreciated by those it helps

Today, the Poppy Campaign is one of the Royal Canadian Legion's most important programs. The money raised from poppy sales provides direct assistance for ex-service people in financial distress, as well as funding for medical appliances and research, home services, care facilities, and numerous other purposes.

Students will receive their Poppy on Remembrance Day.

Thank you for supporting the Poppy Campaign!
