Every day, millions of children around the world wake up to a life of suffering and sadness. For a moment, please think about the children in war-torn Syria, for children who become victims of human trafficking, for Aboriginal children who are denied access to education and opportunities for the children who are being ostracized and bullied by their peers. Every one of them has a voice that is often ignored. Our Me-to-We students would like to take a silent stand so these children can speak out.
On April 17, Me-to-We members have decided to go silent for all the boys and girls facing poverty and a denial of their right to education and we invite staff and students to join us!
For the next three days, staff and students may pick up pledge forms from Me-To-We members during all three lunches in the cafeteria. We invite you to collect pledges for each hour you plan to be silent. On the 17th, staff and students who will be silent will be wearing a sticker to let others know they are a part of this meaningful day.
If you choose to take part, kindly submit your pledge forms and money to Ms. Saunders or Ms. Katzikowski by Friday April 25th.
Please come and take the Vow of Silence with us.
