Remembrance Day

Each year, from November 5 to 11, Canadians join together to celebrate Veterans’ Week. During this week, hundreds of commemorative ceremonies and events will take place across the country to recognize the achievements of our Veterans and honour those who made the ultimate sacrifice. Let us begin by remembering an important battle from WWI.
We would like to commemorate the soldiers who were part of the Battle of Vimy Ridge in 1917.  The hard fought battle started at 5:30 am on April 9, Easter Monday, and lasted four days. On the battlefield, Canadian soldiers proved their bravery, creativity, devotion and exceptional military skill.  After the Canadians captured the ridge, the hardest point being kept by the Germans, Canadians won a reputation as one of the toughest and best fighting soldiers in the world. This battle helped Canada become a nation – one devoted to the pursuit of freedom. We would like to thank these soldiers who served our country and risked their lives for peace and to help ensure we have freedom to enjoy today.
Dear Dante, make remembrance more than something you feel. Make it something you do.
