With almost the full team and with an injured goalie, the Jr. Boys’ soccer team played their divisional playoff against a very stubborn Merton team. Failing behind in the middle first half 1-0 the Dante team had to regroup to make sure they would tie it before the end of the first half. With a corner kick awarded to Dante, Jordan Pereira and Andres Samaniego made sure that the cross would reach Merton’s goal and Cristian Rosario scored with a header to tie the game.  As soon as Dante tied it, the referee blew his whistle to indicate half time.

In the second half, Dante was once again  awarded with another corner kick. This time Jordan Pereira chipped the ball into the box and Fabio Vilaca came across to head the ball giving Dante the lead 2-1. With approximately 4 minutes to play in the game, Dante held the score and won the game 2-1. The coaches Aldea, Matiitchik, and Turco would like to congratulate all the players for the fantastic win and especially Taivonte Lessey, who had to go in the net in the second half for our injured goalie. Make sure, if you see the players in the hall, that you congratulate them for the big win. The team will play against St. Basils in the Quarter Finals this Friday Oct. 26. The team players must listen to tomorrow’s announcement regarding the transportation to Basil for Friday’s game.
