IMPORTANT GRADUATION REMINDERS

Monday June 27, 2011:

Mass: 10:00 am
All Grad students are to attend Mass at St. Charles Church.
If the Church is occupied, the Mass will be held in the auditorium.
Year End Mass is NOT OPTIONAL. If you do not attend mass, you will not be admitted to the Grad Brunch.

Brunch: 11:00 am – 1:00 pm
Students will go to Villa Colombo – Sale Caboto for Grad Brunch
immediately after mass. After the brunch, students are to report to the Main Campus Cafeteria
for ½ hour dress rehearsal along with their Teacher Leaders.
Following the rehearsal, students will pick up their Grad Invitations,
Gowns, and Grad Tickets for their parents/family members.

Graduation Ceremony
All Grads must be at the Centre for the Performing Arts at 5:45 pm.
Please enter by the East Side or Stage Doors of the Centre. You will
need to sign in and make your way upstairs to the Rehearsal Hall.
Parents/family members with admission tickets will enter by the front
doors. NO ONE WILL BE ADMITTED WITHOUT A TICKET.

ADDENDUM to Grad Info re: JUNE 27th BRUNCH

TICKETS FOR THE GRADUATION BRUNCH WILL BE DISTRIBUTED BY THE HOMEROOM TEACHER IMMEDIATELY FOLLOWING MASS.

MS. BOROWSKI WILL HAVE BRUNCH TICKETS FOR THE FOLLOWING GROUP OF STUDENTS:

· STUDENTS WITHOUT AN ASSIGNED HOMEROOM (SPARE)
· STUDENTS WHO ARE NOT IN A GRADE 12 HOMEROOM. (EG. GRADE 11)
- OYAP STUDENTS

GRADUATION CEREMONY 2011

1) On Monday June 27, 2011 at 10:00 am, all Grad students will be attending a Mass at St. Charles Borromeo; if the Church is occupied during the same time, the mass will be held in the school auditorium at the same time; let the parents know that the year-end mass, is not optional. Any student who misses the mass will not be attending the Grad Brunch at Villa Colombo.

2) After the Mass on June 27, 2011, students will be going to Villa Colombo – in the Sala Caboto, for a Grad Brunch which begins at 11:00 am, and ends at 1:00 pm. After the Brunch, all graduating students will go to the main campus in the school’s cafeteria for a half hour dress rehearsal, along with their Teacher Leaders. After the dress rehearsal, student will also pick up their gowns, Grad invitations, admission tickets for parents and family members.

3) On Tuesday June 28, 2011, all Grad students are expected at the Centre for the Performing Arts at 5:45 pm. They will enter by the east side or stage doors of the Centre, where they will need to sign in and make their way upstairs to the Rehearsal Hall. Parents and family members with admission tickets, will enter by the front doors; any parent without an admission ticket, will not be allowed to enter.

DANTE 3 POINT COMPETITION SPECIAL NEEDS FUNDRAISER

It was another exciting day at the three point competition.

In the male bracket…

Moving onto the second round from the Dante Basketball members bracket are high scorer Sam Raso with (7 points) and Daniel Ebanks. Also, moving on to the second round are Lorenzo Mariconda, Solomon Adu, Felix Alvardo, Jacob Orellana, and Roberto Esteves, and Jaymar Alejado with 5 points a piece.

In the female bracket...
The dynamic combinations of Tany Caden/Chantel Lewis as well as Rysher Molina/Sonia O'neal both scored 5 points each and will be heading to the second round.

In the teacher bracket…
Mr.Tocco and Mr.Finnison went head to head and each scored 8 points. An honourable mention goes to Ms.Fantuzzi. We encourage more teachers to stop by the gym.

The last day of the first round will continue next Tuesday. There is still a chance to move on.

Students can earn an Interdisciplinary Credit in music through St. Patrick Secondary

DANTE 3 POINT COMPETITION UPDATE

We had a very successful and exciting day at the 3 point competition. Congratulations to Nicholas Reid, Nathaniel, Tajai Scott, Brandon Lalbeharry, Felix and Alex who are moving onto to the second round.

The first round continues this Thursday during all three lunches. The top 2 Dante Basketball players, top 3 non-dante basketball players, and top 2 females of EACH DAY move onto the second round so there is still a chance to move on. The prizes are located in the display case outside the gym

BOYS BASEBALL

The Dante Boys baseball team ended their season yesterday with an unfortunate 5 - 3 loss to Senator O'Connor. The team never gave up and were a constant threat to O'Connor's lead. Thanks to everyone who played this season and to the great coaching staff, Mr. Jamnik, Mr. Dickey and Mr. Boscarino.

This is a reminder to all grade 12 students attending this year's graduation Prom on Friday June 3rd at 6:30 p.m. at the Embassy Grand Convention Centre in Brampton THAT...

THEY MUST BRING PHOTO IDENTIFICATION for both themselves and their guest. This may be the student card.

As well, security will be checking purses and pockets upon entry to the banquet hall and NO BAGS/KNAPSACKS will be permitted.

We remind ALL of the formal nature of this event and that appropriate dress and behaviour is expected.

Let's all have a safe and enjoyable evening of celebration!!

CANADIAN ARMED FORCES

The Co-operative Education Department would like to congratulate Private George Silva and Private Evan Becerra on the successful completion of their Basic Military Qualifications courses through this semesters Canadian Armed Forces Co-op program.

Private Silva and Private Becerra were awarded their status at last night's graduation ceremony held at Fort York Armoury.

Students interested in finding out more about the Canadian Armed Forces are invited to meet CAF personnel on Tuesday June 7th when they visit Dante during the lunches.
